Can you believe we’re over halfway through this poetry journey? I know I always learn something every year I take part in OctPoWriMo, and I always get better at writing. And I usually find a new poetic form I’d never heard of before. I do love the suggested forms, don’t you? Today’s Prompt: Family “The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other’s life.” -Richard Bach “Family is a life jacket in the stormy sea of life.” -J.K. Rowling "Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind.... or forgotten." -Lilo and Stitch “Friends become our chosen family.” -Unknown

Who is your family? Are you close to your biological family? Do you have a chosen family? I have seven siblings, and I am only close to one of them. My sister is my best friend, but I actually blocked one of my brothers online because he’s so toxic. However, family is still very important to me. My friends are so very important to me. I am an introvert so it takes me a long time to truly be friends with someone, and then they are family. I don’t have many true friends, so I treasure my chosen family.
